Bird census: A photo caption that accompanied a Dec. 26 article in Section A about the Audubon Society’s annual Christmas Bird Count misidentified one of two people taking part in the count. In the photo, shown above, Eric Addinall is at left and the person at right is Chris Schuster, not Marion Sargeant.

Mexican priest: An article in the Dec. 21 Section A about Father Raymundo Figueroa, a controversial Roman Catholic priest in Rosarito Beach, Mexico, incorrectly reported that Cardinal Roger Mahony of the Los Angeles Archdiocese sent a letter to Tijuana diocese officials complaining that Figueroa had crossed into the United States to perform sacraments for a fee. In fact, a regional auxiliary bishop from the Los Angeles Archdiocese, Gerald Wilkerson, had faxed a memo to parishes in parts of northern L.A. County warning of Figueroa’s possible activities.

Tina Brown: An article in Sunday’s Calendar section about Daily Beast website editor Tina Brown said that author Ann Coulter had called Meghan McCain “plus-sized.” It was commentator Laura Ingraham who made that comment after McCain, the daughter of Arizona Sen. John McCain, had criticized Coulter in an essay on Brown’s website.

Flood maps: Anarticle in Monday’s Section A on new federal flood maps listed a government web address that has been slowed by heavy traffic. An alternative website for finding out whether a piece of property is in a high-risk flood area is www.floodsmart.gov “> www.floodsmart.gov .

Gilbert Arenas’ high school: An NBA column on an alleged incident involving handguns in the Washington Wizards’ locker room that appeared in Sunday’s Sports section said the Wizards’ Gilbert Arenas went to Woodland Hills Taft High. Arenas attended Van Nuys Grant.

Brazil soccer: A soccer column in Sunday’s Sports section looking irreverently ahead to 2010 included the following passage: “Brasilia -- Lulu, the president of Brazil and no relation to the 1960s English pop singer, has decreed that the country can field only players with names consisting of four or fewer letters.” The president of Brazil is Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, and the pop singer Lulu is Scottish, not English.

Race track photo: A caption in some issues of Sunday’s Image section said that horse owner Steve Kenly was photographed cheering on Santa Anita Park’s opening day, which was Saturday, Dec. 26. Kenly was pictured cheering on Sunday, Dec. 27, the second day of Santa Anita’s opening weekend.

3-D airport scanners: A photo caption that accompanied an article on airport security systems in Thursday’s Business section misspelled Schiphol Airport in Amsterdam as Schilphol.
