WWII code talker: A headline in a National Briefing story in Section A on June 24 said an American Indian who died in South Dakota was the last of the World War II code talkers. Clarence Wolf Guts was the last code talker from South Dakota. Other code talkers from the war are still alive.

Magnolia Bakery: An article in the June 21 edition of LATExtra about a shortage of restaurant parking on West 3rd Street, Beverly Boulevard and environs said Magnolia Bakery’s soon-to-open Los Angeles location would be its first outside New York. It will be the first U.S. location outside New York. The company also has an outlet in Dubai.

Freedom Communications: An article in Business on Wednesday about Freedom Communications Inc.’s new chief executive, Mitchell Stern, said he declined to comment. The article should have said Stern could not be reached for comment.

Statins: An article on statins in Tuesday’s Section A incorrectly referred to them as the second-most-prescribed medications in the United States. They are actually the most-prescribed type of medication in the U.S.

All-time Yankees: A chart of all-time New York Yankees baseball stars in Friday’s Sports Section listed relief pitcher Allie Reynolds as a left-hander. Reynolds pitched right-handed.

Screening Room: The Screening Room column in the June 24 Calendar stated that the character played by Michael Douglas in the film “Falling Down” goes on a killing spree. The character goes on a violent rampage but only kills one person.

Ring Cycle: An article in Monday’s Calendar about L.A. Opera’s staging of the Ring Cycle said that “Mahabharata” had been presented during the Olympic Arts Festival in 1984. It was staged as part of the Los Angeles Festival in 1987. The article also misspelled the last name of director Peter Brook as Brooks.
