Street injured

Rockies closer Huston Street bruised the right side of his abdomen when he was hit by an Ian Stewart line drive in batting practice.

The team said Street was sent home to rest and his availability will be on a day-to-day basis. He was taken off the field in an ambulance and team trainer Keith Dugger said Street passed out two or three times after being hit.

Coghlan sidelined

Left fielder Chris Coghlan of the Florida Marlins has been put on the disabled list after tearing a knee cartilage Sunday while splashing a pie on the face of teammate Wes Helms, who had delivered a game-winning hit against Atlanta.

New York Mets left fielder Jason Bay has been diagnosed with a mild concussion, suffered Friday when he crashed into a wall at Dodger Stadium, and is out of the lineup for at least a few days.
