Dodgers: Week ahead
Monday and Tuesday: vs. Houston
Wednesday and Thursday: vs. San Diego
Friday through Sunday: vs. Detroit
Interleague play has not been particularly kind to the Dodgers, who have not had a winning record against the American League since 2004, going 29-52 over that span. And the schedule-makers didn’t do them any favors by sending the Tigers to Dodger Stadium this week. Detroit began the weekend ranked among the best-hitting teams in the majors. But the matchup will give fans a chance to compare a couple of Triple Crown candidates: the Dodgers’ Andre Ethier, who started Friday leading the National League in all three Triple Crown categories — batting, home runs and runs batted in — and the Tigers’ Miguel Cabrera, who led the AL in batting and RBIs.
