Colony Capital’s Tom Barrack replaces Richard Nanula at Miramax
Colony Capital Chairman Tom Barrack has been named chairman of Miramax, replacing Richard Nanula, the company said.
On Sunday, Nanula resigned as chairman of the independent film producer and as a principal of Colony Capital, a private equity firm that co-owns Miramax.
His resignation came after two websites published photos purportedly showing Nanula having sex with an adult-film actress.

Nanula’s departure was confirmed by an executive close to Colony with direct knowledge of the matter who declined to speak publicly because of the sensitive nature of the situation.
A former finance chief at Walt Disney Co., Nanula joined Colony in 2008. In 2010, Colony was part of a group of investors that acquired Miramax from Disney for $663 million.
