Julianna Margulies, Jon Cryer, Eric Stonestreet of “Modern Family,” “Boardwalk Empire” and “The Walking Dead” were among the key snubs in major Emmy categories.

Margulies, who stars in CBS’ “The Good Wife,” was shut out of the lead actress in a drama category, where she has been nominated three times, winning in 2011.

Also left out this time around was Cryer, who won last year for lead actor in a comedy for “Two and a Half Men.” Cryer has been nominated seven times in a row and won supporting actor for the role in 2009.
