A pregnant Lake Bell was clearly quite done with hiding her new baby bump as she got busy cutting a dramatic new silhouette at the Met Gala on Monday night in New York City.

Bell gently cradled her growing belly for photographers as she stopped on the red carpet at the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s annual Costume Institute Gala. She’s expecting the child with Scott Campbell, her husband of less than a year.

Her bright red Tommy Hilfiger gown, with its satin back pleating and organza train, didn’t scream “I’m having a baby” quite as loud as her clingy jumpsuit had on April 23 at Vanity Fair’s Tribeca Film Festival party. But at the earlier event, the wine-colored Stella McCartney one-piece needed to make a brash statement, because that was where the “Million Dollar Arm” actress shared her baby-on-board secret with the world.

“You can overthink it. I was just sick and tired of hiding it,” Bell, 35, told People at a charity event last Wednesday, noting that since going public about being pregnant she can finally wear dresses that allow her to eat on the night of an event.

“You don’t have to pose for a photo and suck in,” she said. “You can just relax and let it just accentuate your belly.”

Comparing belly to belly, the gentle new curves are remarkable juxtaposed with her cover shot on the current issue of Esquire, where she rocks a flat tummy and is wearing only sheer tights. Similar pics in skimpy lingerie spotlight her whole body inside the issue. Talk about sucking it in, right?

The parents-to-be married in June 2013 in New Orleans, counting Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux, Eva Longoria, Kate Bosworth, Cameron Diaz, Alicia Silverstone and Josh Hartnett among their guests.

Campbell, a tattoo artist who hails from Louisiana, runs Brooklyn’s Saved Tattoo. Hartnett, designer Marc Jacobs, the late Heath Ledger, model Helena Christensen, Orlando Bloom and Penélope Cruz are on the shop’s client list.

Monday night found Bell and her man -- who also wore Tommy Hilfiger -- seated at Hilfiger’s table along with Zooey Deschanel, music exec Tommy Mottola and Glamour magazine editor in chief Cindi Leive, to name a few.
