The Lummis Home is one of the great idiosyncratic landmarks of Los Angeles, a house built from hand-hewn river rock that now is just off the 110 freeway. Visitors can take a gander at it and enjoy scads of events during Lummis Day, a celebration of the renaissance man Charles Lummis, known for his Indian activism, historical writing and naturalist works of art. Lummis Home, 3800 E. Ave. 43, L.A. Noon. Free. https://www.lummisday.org.
