SUNDAY

Wealthy Americans learn life lessons while taking a walk on the welfare side in the new reality series “Secret Millionaire,” and not-so-secret billionaire Donald Trump is back with another season of “The Celebrity Apprentice.” (ABC, 8 p.m.; NBC, 9 p.m.)

After the return of “Army Wives,” it’s the debut of “Coming Home.” Not to be confused with the 1978 film starring Jane Fonda, this new series captures heartwarming reunions of U.S. service members and their families. (Lifetime, 9 and 10 p.m.)

MONDAY

“The Event” had us with its sci-fi thrills and conspiracy-theory chills – but then lost us with trifling plot devices and forced sentiment. Is the addition of Virginia Madsen as a secret-spilling senator enough to bring us back? We shall see. (NBC, 8 p.m.)

TUESDAY

Gwyneth Paltrow stole Cate Blanchette’s Oscar, and we’ve tried hating her for it, but that’s nigh unto impossible — she’s just so gosh darn nice. Ms. Paltrow reprises her role as sassy substitute teacher Holly Holliday on a new episode of “Glee.” (Fox, 8 p.m.)

WEDNESDAY

Conflicting personalities? Close quarters? Resulting video edited for maximum drama? Check, check and check. “The Real World” practically wrote the playbook for the reality TV genre, and it returns to Las Vegas for its 25th season. (MTV, 10 p.m.)

THURSDAY

For those who like their animals stuffed and mounted, there’s the special “Taxidermy USA.” But if you prefer to see our furry friends very much alive and frolicking, there’s the special “Polar Bear — Spy in the Cold.” (TLC, 9 p.m.; Animal Planet, 10 p.m.)

FRIDAY

You’ve been served, you’ve kept up appearances, and you’ve drunk the last of the summer wine. Now you’re ready to go “Behind the Britcom: From Script to Screen,” a survey of classic comedy fare from our friends across the Pond. (8:30 p.m. KOCE)

SATURDAY

Gentlemen prefer blonds (e.g. Virginia Madsen, Gwyneth Paltrow), but there is none, none more blond than Heather Locklear. The ageless “Melrose Place” vixen stars in the made-for-cable thriller “He Loves Me.” (Lifetime, 9 p.m.; also Mon.)
