CSI: NY: John Larroquette guests in this repeat (9 p.m. CBS).

River Monsters: The Lost Reels: Yet another spinoff of the hit series “River Monsters,” this new series serves up older footage never seen in the United States. The opener follows Wade as he tracks down the arapaima, one of the world’s largest freshwater fish, and on a 2005 trip to India in search of the goonch, a man-eating catfish (9 p.m. Animal Planet).

Run Silent, Run Deep: A submarine commander (Clark Gable) brings his new crew, including a particularly unwilling lieutenant (Burt Lancaster), along on a revenge mission in director Robert Wise’s 1958 World War II drama, which kicks off a weekend of war films in observance of Memorial Day (5 p.m. TCM).

The X-Files: Fight the Future: The big-screen adaptation of the TV hit finds Mulder and Scully (David Duchovny, Gillian Anderson) on anti-terrorism duty (6 and 8:30 p.m. BBC America).
