L.A. Xicano Under the umbrella project “L.A. Xicano,” the new exhibition “Art Along the Hyphen: The Mexican-American Generation” is one of five interrelated exhibitions organized by the UCLA Chicano Studies Research Center, the Autry, the Fowler Museum at UCLA and LACMA. Presented as part of the Pacific Standard Time initiative, the exhibition brings together 100 rarely seen paintings and sculptures from 1945-65 by artists Hernando Villa (1881-1952), Alberto Valdés (1918-98), Domingo Ulloa (1919-97), Roberto Chavez (1932-), Dora de Larios (1933-) and Eduardo Carrillo (1937-97). Tom Green The unpredictable Canadian goofball Tom Green first made a splash stateside with a self-titled comedy show on MTV, then tried his hand at film acting and most recently hosted an Internet talk show from his own living room. Los Angeles Food & Wine The new annual festival featuring top chefs and in-demand restaurants debuts this weekend at L.A.
