BOOKS

Moby On his website, the electronic-music maker describes his new album, “Destroyed,” as “a soundtrack for empty cities at 2 a.m.” Moby will sign copies of the album and its companion book, a collection of photographs capturing his life on the road. Book Soup, 8818 Sunset Blvd., West Hollywood. 7 p.m. (310) 659-3110. https://www.booksoup.com.

COMEDY

Huebel and Scheer Present Crash Test Rob Huebel and Paul Scheer of MTV’s hit sketch comedy show “Human Giant” convene for their bimonthly humor fest. The completely experimental showcase will present a riotous medley of improv, stand-up and special screenings featuring the comedic duo and special secret guests. Upright Citizen’s Brigade Theatre, 5919 Franklin Ave., Franklin Village. 11 p.m. $5. (323) 908-8702. losangeles.ucbtheatre.com.

MUSIC

Foster the People The reputation-making single “Pumped Up Kicks” cakes singer Mark Foster in Strokes-y vocal distortion atop a loping synth bass; “Houdini” has a Blondie-worthy bomp and giddy little house pianos. Electronic-informed music can often go off the rails with experimentalism, so it’s nice that Foster keeps his ear on sharp pop songwriting and crisp productions. Galaxy Theatre, 3503 S. Harbor Blvd., Santa Ana. 7 p.m. $35. galaxytheatre.com.

The Horrors The English quintet started as gothic Cramps knockoffs but made a dramatic and well-received hard turn to experimental krautrock on “Primary Colours.” Their new album, “Skying,” is a rich, atmospheric and genre-beating statement that recalls Echo and the Bunnymen and Simple Minds. Glass House, 200 W. 2nd St., Pomona. 7 p.m. $15. theglasshouse.us.
