Jason Aldean, married man, apologizes for kissing single woman

Jason Aldean has apologized for inappropriate behavior with “American Idol” contestant Brittany Kerr — who’s not his wife but is an NBA cheerleader — after photos of the country star smooching Kerr at a Sunset Strip bar earlier in the week went online Sunday.

“The truth is that I screwed up,” Aldean wrote on his Facebook page after the incriminating photos went live. “I had too much to drink, let the party get out of hand and acted inappropriately at a bar. I left alone, caught the bus to our next show and that’s the end of the story.”

It wasn’t the end of the story for Kerr, who shut down her Twitter page Monday after being called some very nasty names, TMZ reported. Friends of Kerr’s told the website that she didn’t know Aldean was married, even though footage of him leaving the bar later that evening shows him wearing his wedding ring.

“I ultimately ended up embarrassing my family and myself,” Aldean continued. “I’m not perfect, and I’m sorry for disappointing you guys. I really appreciate being able to work through this privately with my family and for all your continued support.”

That support was evident in some of the tens of thousands of comments made on his post, though many others were of the “You’re dead to me now” variety.

Aldean performed on “American Idol” with first-season winner Kelly Clarkson in April 2011, the season before Kerr made it to Hollywood. He has two daughters with his wife, Jessica, whom he married in 2001.
