Pippa Middleton celebrates her book with a kids’ Halloween bash

Pippa Middleton ain’t afraid of no ghosts: The royal sister-in-law decided to celebrate the release of her new book with a Halloween party for some little goblins.

The Duchess of Cambridge’s sibling visited a quaint bookshop on Fulhman Road in London’s Chelsea neighborhood on Thursday, where she offered kids some festive treats and promoted her book, “Celebrate: A Year of Festivities for Families and Friends.”

Halloween is a predominantly American celebration (the Brits have similar Guy Fawkes night every Nov. 5, People points out), but considering her work in the Middleton family party business, Pippa didn’t mind getting festive.

Children decked out in witch hats and skeleton shirts nabbed chocolate, popcorn and taffy treats at the appearance.

“As a child, I felt that Halloween was a time when creatures of the night suddenly came to life -- we would turn off all the lights in the house and let flickering candlelight conjure up scary shadows and imaginary figures lurking in dark corners,” Pippa recalled to Parade magazine.

“I frequently celebrate Halloween over a supper with friends,” she said of her adult All Hallows’ Eve habits. “It’s a wonderful excuse to let your imagination run riot with gory-looking food and special effects.”
