Janet Jackson releases video for ‘Dammn, Baby,’ fueling speculation that she’s expecting

Janet Jackson released a new music video late Wednesday that played into rumors she and husband Wissam Al Mana are expecting a child. “Dammn, Baby” is the third single from her most recent release, “Unbreakable.”

Missy Elliot, who was featured on “BURNITUP!,” another track from Jackson’s 2015 album “Unbreakable,” retweeted the video announcement and sent her close friend a congratulatory message that included a baby-angel emoji and a baby-bottle emoji.

“U are the true meaning of ICON! LEGENDARY! U have inspired many of us! Proud your my friend,” Elliot said.

Jackson’s rep’s only comment on a renewed maybe-baby rumor -- “Entertainment Tonight” reported Wednesday that Jackson was pregnant -- was to refer back to the singer’s April 6 video statement about postponing European tour dates.

“We’re in the second leg of the tour and there actually has been a sudden change,” she of the original “wardrobe malfunction” said last month on social media in a video addressing her fans. “My husband and I are planning our family, so I’m going to have to delay the tour.”

In addition to praising her dancers, band and crew, and thanking her fans for their “undying loyalty,” Jackson said, “It’s important that I do this now. I have to rest up, doctor’s orders, but I have not forgotten about you. I will continue to tour as soon as I possibly can.”

In late December, citing unspecified surgery, Jackson had postponed all “Unbreakable” tour dates until spring. In January, she denied throat-cancer rumors, and then in March there was speculation that the tour’s European leg was being canceled entirely.

The “Rhythm Nation” singer, 49, and her Qatari businessman husband, 41, got hitched quietly in 2012 but didn’t go public about their marriage until 2013, when she spoke up to deny that they’d had an extravagant ceremony. If they are expecting a baby, it would be their first child.
