Spring and summer are the ripe seasons for dance mega-fests and their six-figure headliners, which means March is the month when the weirdos come out. L.A. hosts a nice slate of outsider electronica this month that dips into disco, noise, bass music and svelte minimalism. Here’s the best of the lot this month.

On Friday, pool-party-skulking house savants Guy Gerber and Droog hold down at Sound (1642 N. Las Palmas Ave.), while the disco revivalist Daniel Wang brings roller rinks and big pianos back at the Eagle (4219 Santa Monica Blvd.) for the third anniversary of its Cubscout party.

The following night has a couple of rigorous floor workouts — the concession lines at Staples Center for Tiesto‘s headlining set of relentless ravery, and Trent Cantrelle‘s promised five-hour set at Dim Mak’s Hollywood space (6356 Hollywood Blvd.). (We hope they feed him at some point.)

The U.K. combo Dark Sky revives the skittish percussion of drum ‘n’ bass with a moody twinge at Los Globos (3040 W. Sunset Blvd.) on Thursday. On March 9, the German techno minimalist Ben Klock (who has cut records for BPitch Control) plays a private party for the Droid Behavior (www.droidbehavior.com) crew, and Erick Morillo continues his decades-long house vamp at Avalon (1735 N. Vine St.).

A very potent double bill hits the El Rey (5515 Wilshire Blvd.) on March 14, as beloved Tigersushi Records’ czar Joakim and the one-man U.K. disco-funk machine Kindness team up for a joint tour. A much larger and much more glow-stick-colored package show hits the San Manuel Amphitheatre on March 16, when Insomniac’s annual Beyond Wonderland (www.beyondwonderland.com) festival makes Mad Hatters of us all.

To close out the month, the 20-year-old Aussie beatsmith who goes by Flume proves his precocity is valid at Echoplex (1154 Glendale Blvd.) on March 26, and the beat-music mainstay Daedelus heads up a bill of friends (including the newly Pitchfork-lauded Ryan Hemsworth) at the Fonda (6126 Hollywood Blvd) on March 29. Cap it all off on the 31st with Droog and Miguel Campbell doing their daytime Culprit Sessions dance-party thing at the downtown L.A. Standard’s rooftop pool (550 S. Flower St.). Treat yourself to a mojito while you’re there — you’ll have earned it this month.
