Lil Wayne is in critical condition after suffering a seizure earlier Friday, according to a report from TMZ.
The 30-year-old rapper was rushed to Cedars-Sinai hospital in L.A., where he was placed in an induced coma.
This is the second time the multi-platinum rapper has been hospitalized this week after a seizure. He was taken to Cedars-Sinai on Tuesday after suffering multiple seizures and released on Wednesday.
TMZ reports Wayne’s condition is “unstable”; however, members of Wayne’s label Young Money/Cash Money have refuted the reports with a few tweets, and promised to release “an official statement shortly but dont [sic] believe the nonsense about comas and tubes to breathe.”
Pop & Hiss will update the story as more information is available.
[Updated, 6:33 p.m. PST March 15: A post appeared on Lil Wayne’s twitter account at 6:30 p.m. “I’m good everybody. Thx for the prayers and love.”
Mack Maine, president of Young Money, had tweeted that the superstar was “alive and well” and bashed TMZ for their reports -- but later removed a handful of tweets. Requests for comment from the label were not answered.]
