Beyonce, James Taylor, Kelly Clarkson to sing for Obama

President Obama wasn’t joking when he said he was a Beyoncé fan.

The diva will, again, help the commander-in-chief ring in his second term in office when she performs the national anthem at Obama’s second inauguration on January 21.

Beyoncé will be joined by Kelly Clarkson and James Taylor, who will also perform patriotic songs during the event, according to USA Today.

Clarkson will deliver “My Country, ‘Tis of Thee,” which was previously handled by soul icon Aretha Franklin (and a now infamous hat) at Obama’s first inauguration. Taylor will sing “America the Beautiful.”

The three performers have lent their support to Obama’s campaign, but none have been more visible than pop-R&B; superstar Beyoncé.

She stumped for Obama on his first campaign, sang the Etta James signature “At Last” during the first dance at the Neighborhood Inaugural Ball at the 2009 inauguration and reworked her hit “Get Me Bodied” for Michelle Obama’s Let’s Move childhood obesity initiative.

During his recent campaign she urged her fans to vote and posted a letter endorsing the president on her official website. She’s also sported gold earrings and T-shirts with Obama’s name on them and hosted a private Obama fundraiser with husband, Jay-Z, in New York City.

Announcements about additional entertainment for the inauguration are expected in the coming days.
