TLC is officially back.

The surviving members of one of the bestselling girl groups of all time have been hard at work on their first new album in 10 years. That project is still in the works, but Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas and Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins are offering fans the first taste of new music with a new single, “Meant to Be.”

“Meant to Be” is the lead single -- and lone original track -- from “20,” a greatest-hits compilation that will serve as the soundtrack to their upcoming VH1 biopic, “CrazySexyCool: The TLC Story.”

“20” has all the hits that define the groundbreaking R&B/hip-hop/pop trio – “Creep,” “Waterfalls,” “No Scrubs,” etc. – but the new single is their first original track since 2003’s “Come Get Some,” which led their first greatest-hits set.

The Ne-Yo crafted ballad will score the credits of the VH1 biopic in which actress-singer Drew Sidora, rapper Lil Mama and Keke Palmer channel T-Boz, the late Left Eye and Chilli, respectively.

“Meant to Be” is a tender, introspective nod to their storied career that has weathered enough triumphs and blows to, well, anchor a film -- with the title inspired by their shared mantra.

“From the moment we met, meant to be / Through the sorrow, through the stress, meant to be / Through life and through death,” Thomas sings.

Watkins and Thomas will issue a new album in 2014, TLC’s first since 2002’s “3D,” which was released six months after the group’s third member, spitfire Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes, died in a car crash in Honduras.

“CrazySexyCool: The TLC Story” covers the trio’s rise in the early ‘90s that was marked by multi-platinum albums, smash hits, label discord, going bankrupt despite breakout success and internal conflict. The film debuts on Oct. 21, and “20” is set for release on Oct. 15.
