Taylor Swift may have delivered her most stylistically eclectic and pop-oriented album yet with 2012’s “Red,” but that doesn’t mean she’s lost the connection with her country music support base: On Sunday, the Nashville Songwriters Assn. International is to present the 23-year-old singer and songwriter with its songwriter and artist of the year award, a record sixth time Swift has taken home the honor, more than any other musician.

With the latest win, Swift surpasses Vince Gill and Alan Jackson, five-time recipients of the award that recognizes the “most prolific and productive Nashville writers who achieved Top 30 singles during the past year.” She charted 14 Top 30 singles from July 2012 through June 2013.

It will be a busy weekend for Swift. On Saturday, the education center bearing her name is to open at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum in Nashville. Swift donated $4 million to endow the facility, named the Taylor Swift Education Center in recognition of the gift.

When was a teenager, Swift signed her record contract at the Country Music Hall of Fame, and she gave one of her first public performances there. The education center occupies parts of two floors and includes three classrooms, a learning lab and a children’s exhibit gallery.

Having recently finished the final U.S. leg of her Red tour, she’s taking the show overseas. She’s added two shows to her stand at London’s O2 Arena, which initially was to have three concerts.

She has received six nominations for the upcoming Country Music Assn. Awards, to be handed out Nov. 6 in Nashville. She’s tied with newcomer Kacey Musgraves for the most nominations.
