WWE superstar Kofi Kingston discusses SummerSlam

Recently, Hannah Mitchell, the 11-year-old daughter of Show Tracker’s “Monday Night Raw” recapper Houston Mitchell, was able to interview some WWE superstars about this Sunday’s pay-per-view event, SummerSlam. Here is the interview conducted with Kofi Kingston.

Q: You can jump higher in the ring than any wrestler. Do you think you could have won a gold medal in the Olympics?

Kingston: Oh man, I’d love to give it a shot. I’ve never competed in track. I’ve done some racing, sprints and what-not, but as far as actual events, I’ve never done that, so that might be a nice challenge to overcome.

Q: You have had a lot of tag team partners in the WWE, and now you are champions with R-Truth. What is the secret to having a good tag team?

Kingston: Just being on the same page. Me and R-Truth have found a way to kind of jell. A lot of times I will look at him in the ring, or he will look at me, and we will know what the other is thinking. So we are always on the same page, and that’s why we are champions.

Q: You were born in Ghana, started in WWE as being from Jamaica, and live in the U.S. Where do you consider home?

Kingston: I live in Tampa, Fla., now, but I’ve got roots everywhere. I grew up in Boston and my brother and sister were born in New Orleans. When my parents and I came to the United States we came to Chicago. So I’ve been all over the nation.

Q: If you could take any wrestler in history and face them in the main event of SummerSlam, who would you pick?

Kingston: Very tough question. I’d probably say Shawn Michaels. When I was young, he was the guy I looked up to and he was the guy that was able to be great over three generations. In my mind he is the greatest of all time, so it would definitely be Shawn Michaels.
