Untold History of the United States: This new episode recalls the Cold War is the subject of this new episode (8 p.m. Showtime).

2 Broke Girls: As they get ready to open their cupcake shop, Max and Caroline (Kat Dennings, Beth Behrs) realize they need help, so they hire an intern (Abby Elliott) in this new episode (9 p.m. CBS).

Castle: When a bearded, rotund man in a red Santa suit with an ID reading “Kris Kringle” falls from the sky in Central Park, Castle and Beckett (Nathan Fillion, Stana Katic) discover this St. Nick may have been more naughty than nice, in this new episode (10 p.m. ABC).

The Ends of the World? National Geographic channel airs three new specials that revolve around some very gloomy predictions. At 8 p.m. it’s “Doomsday: Book of Revelation - The End is Near”; “The Mayan Apocalypse 2012 “ follows at 9 and “Maya Underworld: The Real Doomsday” airs at 10.

The Cast of In Living Color: Where Are They Now? This new special features clips from the comedy series and interviews with cast members (9 p.m. TV Guide).

Blake Shelton’s Not So Family Christmas: Miranda Lambert (Shelton’s wife), Christina Aguilera, Kelly Clarkson, Jay Leno, Reba McEntire and Larry the Cable Guy perform seasonal songs old and new along with some holiday-themed comedy bits in this new special (10 p.m. NBC).
