A White House Christmas: First Families Remember: In this new special, host Meredith Vieira talks with first lady Michelle Obama and several of her predecessors — Laura Bush, Hillary Clinton, Barbara Bush and Rosalynn Carter — about the ways in which they’ve marked the season at the famous residence (8 p.m. NBC).

CMA Country Christmas: Classical singer Katherine Jenkins, R&B;’s John Legend and pop artist Colbie Caillat join more traditional country performers, including Keith Urban, Lady Antebellum, Martina McBride, the Band Perry, Dierks Bentley and Little Big Town, for this annual celebration. Jennifer Nettles of Sugarland returns as host (9 p.m. ABC).

2012 The End Is Now: Brad Meltzer connects the dots between ancient and imagined doomsday prophecy, science and human behavior in this apocryphal new special (9 p.m. History).
