Frontier Earth: This new six-episode series hosted by large predator expert and zoologist Dave Salmoni examines some of Earth’s most elusive creatures and their unique methods of survival. Up first: killer whales (8 p.m. Animal Planet).

Iconoclasts: This new episode features two pioneers of modern British culture, chef and food activist Jamie Oliver and fashion icon Paul Smith (8 p.m. Sundance).

Mankind the Story of All of Us: Josh Brolin narrates this 12-hour, six-night miniseries covering the history of the entire human race (9 p.m. History).

Doomsday Preppers: The series that follows the lives of ordinary Americans preparing for the end of the world returns for a new season (9 p.m. National Geographic).

Dangerous Grounds: In the new episode “Bolivia,” Todd is in the Andes, where conditions are perfect for producing great coffee, but is also conducive for production of a far more profitable crop: coca (9 p.m. Travel).

Frontline: The new episode “The Suicide Plan” documents some of the ramification of assisted suicide, which is illegal in every state except Oregon and Washington (9:30 p.m. KOCE).

Don’t Trust the B— in Apartment 23: Chloe (Krysten Ritter) tries to convince June (Dreama Walker), who’s obsessed with People magazine’s Sexiest Man Alive issue, that she shouldn’t take other people’s word for what’s sexy (9:30 p.m. ABC).
