It’s going to be a busy summer for HGTV. The home-focused cable channel announced at its Upfront presentation to advertisers in New York on Tuesday that it would debut nine new series by July 31.

The highest profile new series is “Brother Vs. Brother,” starring twin brothers Jonathan and Drew Scott from the series “Property Brothers” as they each mentor a team of six home improvement experts in a competition to raise the value of various properties.

The other new competition series is “HGTV Star,” which will follow aspiring HGTV hosts through a series of challenges to land a position on their very own HGTV series.

The two new restoration-themed series are “Flip or Flop,” about house flippers, and “Catastrophe, Inc.,” about a crew of people restoring homes after natural disasters have wrecked them.

There are also five new renovation or real estate shows: “Renovation Raiders,” which pulls off overhauls in less than four hours; “Renovate to Rent,” which features a team of people fixing up foreclosed homes in anticipation of renting them out; “Renovation Unscripted,” starring soap actress and home renovation enthusiast Heather Tom and her musician husband, James, as they fix up old homes; “Staged to Perfection,” following designer Meredith Baer as she leads a team of people putting a decorative touch on empty homes that are struggling to sell on the L.A. real estate market; and “Power Brokers,” about people attempting to buy their dream homes for less-than-outrageous prices.
