Hillary Clinton gets mansplained by Jimmy Kimmel

Share

Hillary Clinton made her second visit to “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” on Thursday night, where she was treated to a healthy dose of mansplaining from her host.

“I am going to be your secret weapon,” Kimmel told the Democratic presidential candidate. “I’m going to help you win this election no problem. Are you familiar with mansplaining?”

“Oh yeah, that’s when a man explains something to a woman in a patronizing way?” Clinton replied.

“Actually it’s when a man explains something to a woman in a condescending way,” he said, “but you were close.” (I see what you did there, Kimmel!)

At Kimmel’s suggestion, Clinton stood behind a podium and practiced her stump speech, while he provided unsolicited advice clearly adapted from “Joe Scarbourough’s Guide to Campaigning While Female” (note: not an actual book).

At first she sounded “a little shrill,” he said. Then, she overcorrected and was almost inaudible. Don’t smile so much! But don’t frown either! It seemed like nothing the former secretary of State was doing was quite right.

The problem, as Kimmel discovered: She’s not a man.

Elsewhere in the episode, Kimmel provided Clinton’s campaign with suggested slogans to compete with the undeniably catchy “Feel the Bern.” They included “Netflix and Hill,” “Take a Hill Pill” and “Hillary Rod-damn!”

Their conversation also touched on such hot topics as the fight over the Supreme Court, Clinton’s email account, the legalization of marijuana and, um, the declassification of records related to Area 51. Seriously, when will the shameless pandering to the UFO lobby end?
