Jennifer Lawrence and Jimmy Fallon play Box of Lies

Share

Not every guest on “The Tonight Show” can lip sync. Some of them play games with the host, Jimmy Fallon. Take America’s Goofy Best Friend, Jennifer Lawrence. She showed up on Fallon’s show on Thursday night to promote “X-Men: Days of Future Past” and wound up playing the game Box of Lies.

For those unfamiliar with the premise, the game involves the two performers sitting on opposite sides of a partition with a small window cut out. Then they select a box from nine arranged on shelves behind them. Each box contains an odd object. The player must then either tell the truth or lie about what they found in the box and the other performer must attempt to call them on their lie.

Lawrence and Fallon giggled their way through the game, which sort of made the whole production seem like something from a Jimmy Fallon slumber party. (Perhaps that will be the “Tonight Show” prime-time special?)

The wacky object included a Rubik’s Cube in a Jell-o mold, a John Stamos action figure and an egg roll in a bird’s nest.

What’s most shocking about this is that even though both Lawrence and Fallon have done a fair amount of professional lying (a.k.a. acting), they were both pretty terrible at lying in this game.
