American Genius A new episode recalls the gritty David vs. Goliath competition between American inventors Philo Farnsworth and David Sarnoff, over the invention of television. 9 p.m. National Geographic
Major Crimes The squad investigates a double homicide that has ties to a string of home invasions in the Hollywood Hills as the drama returns with new episodes. Mary McDonnell stars with guest stars Kathe Mazur and Malcolm-Jamal Warner. 9 p.m. TNT
Bizarre Foods With Andrew Zimmern This new episode travels to Iquitos, Peru, in search of such exotic fare. 9 p.m. Travel
The Whispers Claire (Lily Rabe) wants to learn the truth about John Doe (Milo Ventimiglia) before anyone else does in this new episode of the supernatural drama. 10 p.m. ABC
Turn: Washington’s Spies Several lives hang in the balance in the season finale, as Abe (Jamie Bell) plots the assassination of Major Hewlett (Burn Gorman) and Ben (Seth Numrich) puts his life on the line at the Battle of Monmouth. 10 p.m. AMC
Odd Mom Out The outrageous world of the uber-wealthy momzillas of New York’s Upper East Side serves as the backdrop for this new 10-episode scripted sitcom that follows the quirky, unconventional life of Jill Weber (Jill Kargman). Andy Buckley and Abby Elliott also star. 10 p.m. Bravo
UnREAL In this new episode Quinn (Constance Zimmer) offers a hefty cash bonus to the first person on her team who creates this season’s resident villain from among the remaining girls after one contestant is sidelined by a family tragedy. 10 p.m. Lifetime
