Jean Paul Gaultier limited-edition tote to raise money for amfAR

Share

A special editon tote designed by Jean Paul Gaultier is being sold for a limited time as a fundraiser for amfAR, the Foundation for AIDS Research.

The bag became available as of June 1 at selected Bloomingdale’s stores, including those at Century City, Sherman Oaks, South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa and Fashion Island in Newport Beach. As of mid-summer, it will also be available at shop.amfar.org.

The canvas tote, originally part of the “Artbags” fundraising campaign by Netherlands-based Stop Aids Now, features a nautical design and bears the designer’s signature on the front. It retails for $35, with 100% of the proceeds earmarked for amfAR’s research projects.

Trina Turk collaborated with Clos du Bois on the Clos on the Go, a summer beach tote that holds wine, corkscrew, two reusable glasses, playing cards and a towel. Even better: The tote unfolds into a reclining beach lounger. To celebrate the collaboration, Trina Turk boutiques plan a special shopping event from 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday with complimentary Clos du Bois wine, light bites and $50 off a purchase of $300 or more.

Eco-fashion brand Amour Vert is launching at select Bloomingdale’s and plans a special preview of the collection from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday in the Santa Monica Bloomingdale’s store. This is part of the brand’s ongoing partnership with American Forests. The event will be in the Y.E.S.
