Justin Timberlake -- who not only entertains, but is behind the William Rast clothing line -- will be among the honorees at the Fashion Group International’s Night of Stars gala on Oct. 22. He is to receive the Lord & Taylor Fashion Oracle Award. Lanvin’s Alber Elbaz is to receive the Superstar Award. Other honorees include Karen Harvey, Jonathan Anderson, Bruno Frisoni for Roger Vivier, Jason Wu, Bulgari, ebay, Pinterest, Eileen Fisher, Karyn Khoury of Estee Lauder and George Yabu and Glenn Pushelberg of Yabu Pushelberg.

Manolo Blahnik, whose shoes were faves of the “Sex and the City” gals, is launching his first handbag line, a collection of six clutches.

Nordstrom announced via news release Monday that it is doubling the number of stores that carry the Madewell label from 15 to 30. Why is this significant? Because the only other place you can buy Madewell is in Madewell stores or on its website.

Yves Saint Laurent plans to return to couture, more than a decade after showing its last couture collection.

Beatrice Borremeo wore a pink haute couture Valentino gown for her weekend wedding to Pierre Casiraghi (grandson of the late Princess Grace and Prince Rainier III of Monaco). She wore another Valentino, a silver floral gown, for an evening reception. In between the ceremony and the reception, the couple hosted a picnic, which required still another outfit: a rustic red and white striped skirt, black vest and ruffled white blouse.

In an expansion of a fundraiser that combines fashion and art, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art’s Wear LACMA program has enlisted 19 clothing, accessory and jewelry designers to create wearables inspired by the museum’s collection. The resulting dresses, scarves, pendants and more are to go on sale Nov. 4, as part of LACMA’s 50th anniversary celebration.
