Monthlong Kangol pop-up shop headed to Sportie LA next week

Share

Headwear brand Kangol, favored by the likes of LL Cool J and Samuel L. Jackson, is set to open a monthlong pop-up shop in the Ciy of Angels on Tuesday.

Temporarily occupying the storefront at 7763 Melrose Ave. -- adjacent to sneakerhead hot spot Sportie LA’s 7753 Melrose flagship -- the pop-up will showcase Kangol’s fall and winter line, including its Made in the USA collection as well as pieces from its second collaboration with Disney.

Among the fruits of that partnership: a double-layered knit beanie in an all-over camouflage print combining Mickey Mouse ears with Kangol’s kangaroo mascot ($45); a six-panel snapback baseball-style cap that features an embroidered Mickey Mouse making what appears to be a little tagging mischief on the black and white striped paint-dripping front panels ($45); and a black and white striped beanie that mines the same territory -- though with only Mickey’s white-gloved hand holding a paint marker embroidered at the edge of the hat ($50).

The Kangol pop-up at Sportie LA is scheduled to “pop down” on Nov. 7.
