10 non-jeans denim picks: sunglasses, hats, sandals and more

Share

The tailored, patchwork iterations of denim skirts, jean jackets and even a denim “fur” coat shown at Tom Ford’s fall fashion presentation in L.A. last month could be Exhibit A for how far this all-American fabric has risen from its working-class roots. Spring runways at Chloé, Stella McCartney, Fendi, Tommy Hilfiger and others were also awash with fresh takes on denim, including an array of accessories that offer a new way to live forever in blue jeans, from head to toe. These denim extras hit on trends to suit every style: ‘70s influences (think patchwork hats and totes or clogs), the season’s must-have gladiator sandal, sharply structured handbags, flats with heavy-metal pailettes, and accessories with soft-and-sweet embroidered detailing. Ray-Ban even decks out its classic Wayfarer sunglasses in denim.
