Old Navy plans snow, sledding, movie for holiday cheer [UPDATED 12:44 p.m. Dec. 6]
Old Navy plans to make it snow Saturday in the center courtyard at Hollywood & Highland, 6801 Hollywood Blvd., in Los Angeles. Youngsters and the young at heart will be able to sled down “Mount Old Navy” from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. while a DJ plays tunes. Those too young for sledding will have an area for making snow angels.
Starting at 3 p.m., the retailer will give away free fleece scarves (while supplies last). And after the sledding, Old Navy is sponsoring an outdoor showing of “National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation,” with free Starbucks hot chocolate and popcorn, from 5 to 7 p.m.
Malibu County Mart also has some special holiday events planned for Saturdays this month. This Saturday, children can decorate stockings or dreidels and have their faces painted from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. On Dec. 15, the Mart is hosting a cookie decorating party and photos with Santa from noon to 3 p.m. And on Dec. 22, Santa’s reindeer are scheduled to visit from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Santa will be available for photos from noon to 3 p.m. and carolers will entertain from 1 to 3 p.m. Malibu Country Mart is at 3835 Cross Creek Road, Malibu.
More festivities are taking place at Co-Op 28 Handmade and Vintage in Los Feliz, which is showcasing a different artist demonstrating his or her craft each day through Dec. 24. Daily posts on Co-Op 28’s Facebook page will provide the names of the artists and times of their demonstrations. The shop is at 1728 N. Vermont Ave., Los Angeles.

Legwear designer Love, Beatrice is planning a party with live music by Dana Williams and He Met Her from 9 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. Saturday at the Mandrake, 2692 La Cienega Blvd. At 10 p.m., the party will feature the premiere of a short fashion film by Love, Beatrice, as well as shopping and dancing.
