Man in underwear goes on rampage at Enoteca Drago in Beverly Hills

Imagine you’re having a nice dinner with friends at an upscale Beverly Hills restaurant, and a man walks in wearing just his underwear and starts trashing the place.

That’s exactly what happened Thursday night at the Enoteca Drago restaurant in Beverly Hills. A man was arrested on felony vandalism charges after spending three to four minutes attacking whatever he could get his hands on, in his underwear. The entire incident was caught on camera.

A 29-year-old male walked into the restaurant and started picking up what on the video looked like bottles and throwing them at a television monitor. In the video, some customers can be seen fleeing the restaurant.

“Glassware, tables, chairs broken, a television set, some damage to the walls, the ceiling,” said Steven Piano, co-owner of Enoteca Drago, told KABC news.

The man damaged 50 to 60 bottles of wine and also shattered a mirror before leaving the restaurant out a back door. Police chased the man outside, where he smashed a car windshield with his hands before being shot with a Taser and arrested. He was taken to the hospital and treated for minor injuries.

Piano, who with his partners also owns Il Pastaio, another popular Beverly Hills eatery, said he’s never run into anything like this before.

There was no word on why the man attacked the restaurant.
