Is Barbie bolting Malibu?

Share

Barbie is totally over the ‘bu -- at least she’s acting that way.

As part of a new marketing campaign, the peripatetic princess of pink is set to swing through 13 North American cities on a quest to, as the press materials state, find a new place to hang her teeny tiny hat.

Fittingly, the first stop on the Barbie Mobile Tour will be at the Grove in Los Angeles on Saturday -- barely 31.5 miles from home.

Among the activities on tap: creating Barbie fashions, face-painting (presumably yours and not Barbie’s), walking a “glam fashion runway” and building a Barbie room with something called Mega Bloks.

Other stops over the course of the summer include Vancouver, British Columbia, (which, if she chose to live there, would technically make her “B.C. Barbie”) and Bentonville, Ark., (“Barbie Bentonville,” anyone?).

Additional information, including a complete list of tour dates, can be found online at barbieismoving.com.

We’re going to go out on a limb and guess that Barbie will end her tour right back in Malibu (after all, we’re still smarting from the whole break-up/back together debacle with Ken).

In the meantime, it’s at least fun to check out the real estate listing for the dreamhouse, which, according to the flier, is priced at a cool $25 million.

Barbie Mobile Tour, June 1, 2013, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 189 Grove Drive, Los Angeles.
