Andy Ricker at Mondrian L.A., Dominick’s 66-cent martinis, La Sandia mole fest

Morgans Hotel Group and Vice Munchies are launching a new dinner party series called “Dinner Party” that will feature different chefs in cities around the country. Pok Pok’s Andy Ricker will cook the first dinner Nov. 12 at the Mondrian Los Angeles. The theme for the series is “exchange students” and each chef is asked to cook a meal representative of their signature skills and hometown. Drinks will be provided by guest mixologists and sommeliers overseen by Morgans’ creative beverage director Ryan Chetiyawardana. Tickets are $95 and can be purchased online. La Sandia in Santa Monica is offering a special mole festival menu through Nov. 30. The menu features four moles including mole pipián with tomatillos, poblano chile and nuts; mole Poblano with chiles, spices and Mexican chocolate; mole rojo with ancho chile and cumin; and mole negro with charred tomatoes, toasted nuts and avocado leaves. You can also order the enmoldada quesadillas which include all four moles over a platter of cheese quesadillas.
