Ben & Jerry’s is giving away free scoops of ice cream from the Ben & Jerry’s Scoop Truck. To kick off its annual monthlong tour of Los Angeles, the truck will be scooping its newest line of flavors, including Salted Caramel, made with sweet cream ice cream, blond brownies and a salted caramel swirl, and Hazed & Confused, made with hazelnut and chocolate ice creams, fudge chips and a hazelnut fudge swirl. The truck will be driving around Los Angeles through June 26. To find the truck, follow @BenJerrysWest on Twitter. Some of Los Angeles’ most popular food trucks have teamed up for the Eat (RED) Drink (RED) & Save Lives campaign. It’s a joint collaboration between Bono’s (RED) organization that raises money to fight AIDS and the L.A.-based National Food Truck Assn. Participants include 70 food trucks slated to hit the L.A. area by June 1 and serve special dishes and cocktails benefiting the Global Fund through June 10. Some of the trucks participating are Bowled and Beautiful, M&M Food Truck, Don Chow Tacos, Komodo Truck, Grilled Cheese Truck, Recess and more. Eric Tijahyadi from the Komodo Truck has created a special (RED) Taco with beer-battered Alaskan cod, chipotle sour cream, pickled onions and red corn tortillas. Martha Stewart, Padma Lakshmi, chefs Mario Batali, Marcus Samuelsson, David Burke and more have all joined the campaign and created a video for it. To find the participating trucks, search #86AIDS on Twitter or visit www.red.org.
