Kraft Foods Group said it is voluntarily recalling 1.2 million cases of cottage cheese after discovering that the products were not stored at the correct temperature.

The recall includes select Knudsen, Breakstone’s, Simply Kraft and Daily Chef cottage cheese products.

The company said affected products were stored at a facility in Tulare, Calif., and that production and the distribution of products at the facility has stopped while the problem is investigated.

“Some ingredients used in these products were not stored in accordance with Kraft’s temperature standards,” read a company statement issued Saturday. “While unlikely, this could create conditions that could lead to premature spoilage and/or food borne illness.”

No illnesses have been reported.

Some of the affected products include Simple Kraft products with a plant code of 06-245 on the bottom of the cup. The cottage cheese was shipped to locations throughout the United States. You can view a full list of recalled products on the Kraft Foods Group website.

People who purchased the affected products are being asked not to eat them and return them for a full refund. Consumers can also contact Kraft Foods at 1-800-396-6307.
