Olive Garden food truck heads to SoCal with free breadstick sandwiches

Olive Garden has a food truck. Just let that sink in for a second.

But instead of all-you-can-eat salad and breadsticks, lasagna and sausage-stuffed rigatoni, there will be breadstick sandwiches, and lots of them.

Olive Garden is launching a nationwide, 20-city Breadstick Nation food truck tour, and the truck is headed for Southern California.

The truck will be handing out free samples of the new meatball breadstick sandwiches and chicken Parmigiana breadstick sandwiches. The meatball sandwich includes meatballs, melted cheese and marinara sauce. The chicken Parmigiana sandwich includes a fried chicken cutlet, melted cheese and marinara sauce.

And if you’re not in the mood for a full sandwich, the truck will also serve freshly baked breadsticks.

The truck is scheduled to be at the ADA 25th Anniversary festival at City Hall Park in Los Angeles from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday. Then the truck heads to the Venice beachfront July 15 and 16 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

If you’re going to the Orange County Fair, the truck will be at the fairgrounds July 17 from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. and July 18 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Or until it runs out of breadsticks.
