Where to celebrate Repeal Day with $1 cocktails and more drink specials

Today is Repeal Day, which commemorates the end of the 13 dark years of Prohibition. To celebrate, here are some bars around Los Angeles offering specials. Some of the drinks are priced as low as $1 a tipple. Drink responsibly and have your designated driver on standby.

Ashland Hill in Santa Monica will have $1 gin and tonics with the purchase of an entree, beginning at 5 p.m.

Bar10 in West Hollywood will have half-off all of its signature cocktails. ($7.50, or half-off the regular $13 price.)

Bigfoot Lodge, Bigfoot West, La Cuevita, Harlowe, Oldfield’s, Sassafras and Thirsty Crow are all offering $1 Old Fashioned cocktails between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m.

Cole’s in downtown L.A. has a special that includes two classic French Dips and two sides for $19.08. The restaurant is also offering Prohibition cocktail specials for $5 and up. And Mama’s Little Yella Pilsners are $1.90 each.

Faith & Flower in downtown L.A. will have $1 Havana Club Puerto Rico Punch. Ryan Wainwright (Bombet Hospitality Group director of bar programs) and Darwin Pornel (Faith & Flower lead bartender), will also be mixing up their renditions of classic cocktails, including the Gibson, daiquiri, Sazerac and Old Fashioned, all priced between $9 and $12.

Paley in Hollywood will serve five featured cocktails (Bee’s Knees, Rye Manhattan, Moscow Mule, Paloma and Penicillin) at $5 each. The special is available from 2:30 p.m. to close at the bar.

Tart, the restaurant in the Farmer’s Daughter Hotel, will be serving $5 Repeal Day Mules made with vodka, tequila, whiskey or rum. The special is available from 4 p.m. to closing.
