Rooftop lounge Brit Bar to open at the London West Hollywood

Brit Bar, a rooftop lounge at the London West Hollywood, is set to open this month with a pub-inspired menu from chef Anthony Keene and cocktails with an English twist.

Keene, who is executive chef of the hotel’s Gordon Ramsay restaurants, created dishes such as English ale onion soup, Yorkshire ale fish ‘n’ chips, Scotch egg, Scottish salmon and pot roasted bubble and squeak branzino.

“We wanted to bring the London flavor to the rooftop without it being too heavy,” Keene said. “We are in L.A.” So expect a beet salad and a kale salad. “You can come for a cocktail, have a plate of olives, cured meats, some potted crab.” He adds that there is a Brit-banger-meets-danger-dog.

“It’s not food your traditional bar or pub.”

The al fresco bar, located 10 stories up in the Sunset Strip hotel, will feature plush lounge seating for swishing cocktails and taking in the views of downtown Los Angeles and Beverly Hills. Inside, there’s also an 80-seat dining room.

Signature cocktails include the Pink Lady (gin and lemonade) and a Pimm’s with an L.A. twist. The London Pop is a fresh blackberry and vodka concoction frozen in a tall shot glass with a Popsicle stick.
