Recipe: <i>Haroset</i> sauce
Total time: 15 minutes
Servings: 6 (Makes about 2/3 cup)
Note: Serve this sauce with sweet matzo kugel. Silan, which is sometimes labeled date syrup or date molasses, can be purchased at kosher or Middle Eastern markets.
1/2 cup haroset with Bible land fruits (4 ounces)
1/4 cup sweet red wine
1/2 cup freshly squeezed orange juice (from about 1 orange)
2 tablespoons silan
1 tablespoon water
In a blender, blend the haroset with the wine and orange juice to a smooth sauce. Add the silan and water and blend until smooth. Serve at room temperature.
Each serving: 130 calories; 2 grams protein; 19 grams carbohydrates; 2 grams fiber; 5 grams fat; 0 saturated fat; 0 mg cholesterol; 15 grams sugar; 3 mg sodium.
