Ice cream class, Golden Road at LAX, Outstanding in the Field returns

Carmela Ice Cream founders Jessica Mortarotti and Zachary Cox are teaching fall ice cream classes, instructing students on the basics of ice cream and sorbet bases. They will also discuss flavor inspiration, using seasonal farmers market produce and pairing ideas. The class includes demonstrations and tastings for brown butter sage ice cream and cranberry orange thyme sorbet; go home with a pint of each. Classes are Nov. 3 and Nov. 10 from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. $100 ($90 with bring-a-friend discount). To reserve a space, email store@carmelaicecream.com. Call the store for private group classes. Golden Road Brewing
, the Atwater Village brewery and pub, announces that four locations in three terminals at Los International Airport will serve its Point the Way IPA on draft, starting Nov. 1: Home Turf in Terminal 1, Gladstone’s in Terminal 3 and at Home Turf and Redondo Brewing Bar in Terminal 6. By the end of the year, the four locations also will serve Get Up Offa that Brown, Golden Road’s take on a traditional English-style brown. Golden Road Brewing, 5410 W. Outstanding in the Field will set its long white-linen table for a farm dinner at the Growing Experience Farm in Long Beach on Nov. 6. Neal Fraser of BLD in Los Angeles and Jonathon Sawyer of Cleveland’s Greenhouse Tavern will helm an al fresco kitchen to make dinner with ingredients including including ice cream beans and sugar cane from the Growing Experience and neighboring farms. The meal starts with wine and hors d’oeuvres, followed by a tour of the host farm and a four-course meal paired with wines. Tickets are $220 per person, all inclusive.
