Twitter #Weekendeats highlights: #TasteLA

Share

Each Monday morning, we dish on our weekend eats on Twitter using the hashtag #Weekendeats. People share their recipes and photos of what they’ve been eating. After the chat, we ask people to upload pictures of their #Weekendeats to our “What did you eat this weekend?” photo gallery.

This past weekend happened to be Labor Day weekend and when the L.A. Times hosted The Taste, a three-day culinary festival. Because of the holiday, we had our #Weekendeats chat on Tuesday. Over the three-day weekend we received more than 2,000 pictures from the Taste LA event and people shared their photos with us during our #weekendeats chat this morning on Twitter. Here are some of the highlights:

The blog Gourmetpigs shared a photo of lobster rolls from the Terranea Resort booth, Jo from the blog My Last Bite shared a photo of the causa with unagi made by chef Ricardo Zarate of Picca, and Darin from the blog Darin Dines claims his best bite of the weekend came from the Valerie Confections crunch cake.

Some of the more “out of the box” finds included a photo of Sweet Rose Creamery’s ice cream sliders made with sweet corn ice cream and spicy cheese on a brioche bun, shared by LAWonders. Comiendo en LA shared a photo of her grasshoper tacos made by Juan’s Restaurante.

Please join in by tweeting your #Weekendeats at us Monday mornings @latimesfood and share your photos with us here in our “What did you eat this weekend?” gallery. It’s easy to share photos with us using Olapic by email, Twitter, Facebook, Flickr and Instagram. Be sure to tell us a bit about your photo: What is it? Where was it taken? And tell us about yourself: Do you have a food blog? Are you on Twitter?

We’ll feature some of the photos here on Daily Dish, so be sure to check back for more #weekendeats and #foodporn throughout the week.
