World Cup 2010: HONDURAS
FIFA ranking: 36
Overall World Cup record: 0-1-2
Coach: Reinaldo Rueda
Best performance: First round, 1982
Overview: Los Catrachos made it to the World Cup finals for only the second time by the slimmest of margins, earning the final automatic CONCACAF spot when the U.S. tied Costa Rica on the final play of the final game in the qualifying round. Despite being included with Spain, Chile and Switzerland in Group H in first-round play, Honduras could make some noise in South Africa if ageless striker Carlos Pavon gets some help from European-based teammates David Suazo (Genoa), Wilson Palacios (Tottenham Hotspur) and Jose Cesar de Leon (Torino).
