Sexual assault trial ruling: In the Sept. 17 California section, an article about a lawsuit brought by a student who alleges that the Los Angeles Unified School District was negligent in supervising a teacher who sexually assaulted her carried the headline “Court orders ex-L.A. teacher retried.” As the article correctly noted, it is the district that will face retrying, not the former teacher.
