Brown lawns: An article in the July 14 California section said that cities including Glendale had imposed fines or issued warnings to residents who allowed their lawns to go brown. The article should have said Glendora, not Glendale.

Syphilis cases: An article in the July 14 California section about an increase in syphilis cases in the state identified Dr. Susie Baldwin as head of the health assessment unit of L.A. County’s Department of Public Health. She is actually the sexually transmitted disease controller for the department.
