Randy Wood: The obituary of Dot Records founder Randy Wood in the April 14 LATExtra section said the record label had a hit with “Pipeline” by the Surfaris. The Surfaris recorded the hits “Wipeout” and “Surfer Joe” for Dot. The Chantays recorded the hit version of “Pipeline” for Pyramid Records. The article also said that Wood was a 1937 graduate of Middle Tennessee State University. He graduated in 1941.

Shopping: In the April 10 Image section, a shopping column item about Brunello Cucinelli’s boutique opening at South Coast Plaza misspelled the Italian fashion designer’s first name as Bruno.

“Game of Thrones”: A television review in the April 15 Calendar section said the HBO fantasy series “Game of Thrones” was based on the first book in the series “A Song of Fire and Ice” by George R.R. Martin. The title of the series is “A Song of Ice and Fire.”
