Synagogue explosion: An article in the April 13 LATExtra section reported on authorities’ linking of an explosive device that went off outside a Santa Monica synagogue to a suspect, Ron Hirsch, who was arrested in Ohio. The article said ABC News quoted Rabbi Sruly Wolf as saying, “A fellow in our community spotted him in the shul [school] on Taylor Road in Cleveland Heights.” “School” was incorrectly added in the editing process; the meaning of “shul” is “synagogue.”

“Cinema Verite”: An article in the April 21 Calendar section about the HBO movie “Cinema Verite” said that the documentary series “An American Family” would be shown on PBS starting April 30. It will air starting April 23.

William Rusher: The obituary of former National Review publisher William Rusher in the April 20 LATExtra section said he became a lawyer for the Senate Judiciary Committee’s internal security subcommittee in 1956 under Sen. Pat McCarran (D-Nev). McCarran, who started the subcommittee, was its chairman until 1953 and died in 1954. In 1956 it was led by Sen. James O. Eastland (D-Miss).
