Florida killing: An article in the April 1 Section A about media coverage of Trayvon Martin’s death said that ABC had reported that George Zimmerman told police he had his nose broken and head bloodied in his confrontation with Martin. The initial police report said Zimmerman was bleeding from his nose and the back of his head. It did not say that Zimmerman talked about his injuries.

Villaraigosa and gangs: An article in the April 3 LATExtra section about Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa’s appearance at a youth violence conference in Washington combined comments he made in public with those he made to a reporter afterward. Addressing the conference, the mayor said Los Angeles was safer than at any time since the 1950s. Later, in response to questions from a Times reporter, he dismissed findings in a report questioning the effectiveness of his anti-gang program.

Titanic on TV: An article in the April 1 Calendar section about a spate of Titanic-related programs coming to television this month said that “Titanic,” Julian Fellowes’ miniseries about the ill-fated ship, would air on ABC the following weekend. It airs April 14-15.

Egypt military: An article in the March 25 Section A about the Egyptian military’s role in that country’s economy said that current and former military officers “have attracted foreign investors from France to Taiwan in companies in sectors as diverse as maritime shipping and computer chips.” That assertion should have been attributed to a report in the Middle East Research and Information Project.

Sweetener lawsuit: An article in Section A on March 20 about a lawsuit filed by the sugar industry said that concern about the health effects of high fructose corn syrup began escalating a decade ago, when the surgeon general first expressed alarm over the rapid and ubiquitous spread of the sweetener in processed foods. The surgeon general referred to “added sugars” and did not single out high fructose corn syrup.

Zip-lining: In the March 31 Saturday section, an article about Southern California opportunities for zip-lining should have made clear that the Flightline Safari zip-lining course is at the San Diego Zoo Safari Park, not the affiliated San Diego Zoo.

“Great Expectations”: In the March 31 Calendar section, a review of a new TV production of “Great Expectations” said that Charles Dickens had died 200 years ago. Dickens was born 200 years ago and died in 1870.
